Untamed Border Events may be new to the scene as event hosts, but we have many years’ experience competing in triathlon, running, mountain biking and adventure racing. Most of all, we have a passion for challenging ourselves in the great outdoors. With the dream to share beautiful, normally not publicly accessible land with others, we launched our inaugural Untamed Border Run in 2023.  The incredible feedback from the 200 entrants who walked, ran and skipped across the mountains encouraged us to keep striving.  

Untamed Border Run is a “grass roots” event – we don’t have a huge Advertising Budget, we make all the course markers from recycled products, we slash the course with our own equipment, we keep it local!

Running brings a new demographic of tourist to our small town and the locals happily volunteer. The Killarney Men’s Shed make our finisher’s plaques. The Show Society opens up the Canteen serving wholesome food. Our Event Traffic Marshals, Photographers and Course officials (representing local Clubs) are all volunteers. We show our gratitude to those volunteers by donating to their clubs / associations. We’re big on Community spirit in Killarney!

We hope you will join us, or return time and again, to run, walk or skip along the tracks, trails and back country roads – it’s scenically spectacular up in Untamed Border Run country. You might find yourself slowing, or even stopping in your stride, to breath in the fresh mountain air and gaze over the magnificent views.
